440C stainless steel is a high carbon martensitic stainless steel with high strength, moderate corrosion resistance, and good hardness and wear resistance. It is capable of attaining the highest strength, hardness and wear resistance of all the stainless alloys after heat treatment. 440C stainless steel coil has good cutting and wear resistance for the high carbon content. Besides, it has excellent corrosion resistance and is resistant to the erosion of a variety of chemical corrosive media. 440C has excellent hardness owing to its high carbon content. Heat treatment and quenching gives it excellent cutting ability and wear resistance. In addition, 440C has a high chromium content and excellent corrosion resistance in most acidic and alkaline environments.
